Salomon TV and Stept Studios collaborate on Dear Rich
Endurance Athlete Rich Roll opens up and finds peace with his past, in the latest film by Stept Studios, releasing on Salomontv.com
Accomplished endurance athlete, author and podcaster, Rich Roll has been a voice we have become familiar with over the years.
In Dear Rich, the new film from Salomon TV and Stept Studios, we hear the story behind the voice. Roll shares a letter to himself, giving an intimate view into the struggles he's faced with addiction, how running has helped bring him back to the surface and something that he is still learning: that we must overcome our fear of change to find what we are truly capable of.
The collaboration of Stept Studios’ Brand Entertainment division with Salomon, a company deeply invested in transformative experiences, was organic and a perfect blend to bring Roll’s personal story to life.
Stept is known for telling stories that connect people and for exploring what human capacity looks like, whether that is through adventure, adversity or achievement. With Dear Rich, Salomon TV brought Stept the perfect opportunity to showcase Roll's story in as authentic a way as possible.

Director Brandon Lavoie was tapped to use his skills to show the connection Roll has with his past self, and that place of fragility he spent so much time in, to his current self, a beacon of self-peace.
The vulnerability that Roll shares is paired perfectly with Lavoie’s use of stunning visuals and cinematic styling.
"Making this film has been a gift. We knew that the goal of this project was to show a part of my story that was vulnerable and even uncomfortably honest. I am so proud to release what we came up with in the wild," Roll shared after seeing the completed film.
