Rolls-Royce Aerospace delivers infinite potential
Common People Studio and director Simon Gustafsson create global recruitment film for Rolls-Royce Aerospace
Common People Studio has produced Rolls-Royce Aerospace’s first major brand film created specifically for employee marketing and global recruitment.
Directed by Common People Studio rostered director Simon Gustafsson and created by Karen DeGennaro at Cielo, the film offers an authentic insight into the people, mindset and expertise Rolls-Royce Aerospace is seeking as it continues its worldwide search for the very best talent across engineering and specialist disciplines.
Shot over three days at Rolls-Royce Aerospace’s Derby headquarters, with additional excerpts captured from offices around the world, the film explores what it truly takes to work for one of the most admired engineering companies on the planet, wherever you are based and whatever your chosen field of expertise.
Rather than focusing solely on technology, the film places people at its core, revealing the curiosity, precision and ambition that define the Rolls-Royce Aerospace culture. It is designed to resonate with highly skilled professionals globally, inviting them into the world behind the engines and innovations.
Gustafsson captures the mood and aesthetic of the brand with a distinctive cinematic approach, using time, pace and detail to create a compelling portrait of life inside Rolls-Royce Aerospace. The result is an intimate and engaging film that reflects both the scale of the organisation and the individuals who drive it forward.

Gustaffson commented: “Getting the chance to direct this film for Rolls-Royce was both exciting and humbling. It’s not every day you step inside the world behind one of the most iconic names in engineering, and then get to tell that story through something that feels more like a cinematic poem than a standard employer branding film.
I wanted the piece to feel human, artful, and bold. Time became our narrative thread, rewinding to find the spark where everything begins, then moving forward to capture the momentum and the progression. Each shot was crafted with intention, aiming to mirror the same precision and dedication we saw in the people at Rolls-Royce.
We shot the majority of the film at their Derby site, where jet engines are built, and layered in archive footage to reflect the full spectrum of their work, from aerospace to power systems, submarines, and renewable energy. It was all about honoring the unseen hours, the human hands behind the innovation”.
Executive Producer Ramy Dance of Common People Studio added: “It was a real honour to partner with Cielo & Rolls-Royce on Infinite Potential. An ambitious, premium project that perfectly reflects the brand’s values and ambition. The project also marked our first collaboration with Simon Gustafsson, just two months after joining our roster, and it couldn’t have been a better introduction to his creative brilliance. Working closely with Cielo and the Rolls-Royce team, the process was genuinely collaborative from start to finish.
Simon took an already strong and detailed creative brief and elevated it, bringing his own perspective, craft, and intuition to create something that feels unmistakably Rolls-Royce, yet fresh, contemporary, and creatively distinctive. We’re incredibly proud of the final film and excited by how this approach can make employer brand feel premium, aspirational, and culturally relevant. An area we’re looking forward to exploring further through future collaborations later this year”.
The film will be used across Rolls-Royce Aerospace’s global recruitment and digital channels, supporting the company’s ambition to attract world-class talent ready to help shape the future of aerospace.
