Marking the arrival of the French auto manufacturer's 100%-electric Renault 5 model, this charming campaign, directed by Bruno Aveillan for Publicis Conseil, celebrates the brand and its country of origin for their revolutionary way of thinking, drawing on arts and cultural icons of pivotal historical moments.
The creative takes the form of a dreamlike journey through different eras, in which the car encounters other icons, each embodying a form of revolution in their own field: music with the French Touch movement, cinema with the Nouvelle Vague led by Jean-Luc Godard, photography with the humanist movement, fashion with haute-couture, the Moulin Rouge with the French Cancan.
Photographic and painterly visual effects blend and transform according to each period the film moves through, thoughtfully paired with a reworked version of the track Instant Crush by Daft Punk feat. Julian Casablancas.
