Production company Recommended today announced the signing of Michael Haldane as their new Managing Director. A Cannes Gold Lion winner, Haldane brings over 25 years of experience as a film director and executive producer to his new job, and is eager to further Recommended's hard-earned reputation for finding, developing and promoting directorial talent.

"Recommended is truly an incubator for new and existing directorial talent who take the craft of filmmaking to heart," says Haldane. "Our role is to create opportunities for a new breed of directors, and help them grow organically as filmmakers. I'm truly thrilled to be part of that project."

His new role at Recommended will be Haldane's first in the United States. His previous experience has all been acquired north of the border, where his positions included Head of Production at Treehouse North Productions; Executive Producer at Toronto's Steam Films and Radke Film Group; and Founder and Managing Partner at Vancouver's filmgroup.tv.

"I've always been drawn to the opportunity, competition and diversity of the U.S. market," he says. "I'm honored and thrilled to be joining this vivid and versatile company and beginning my U.S. journey."

Already fully immersed in his new role, Haldane led the efforts to overhaul and rebrand Recommended Media to Recommended, starting with a new website, logo and the launch of Third Party in April 2014.

Third Party is Recommended's roster of directors that have taken their careers beyond advertising. These mediums include creating feature films, web and TV series and other formats of story telling and filmmaking. Several high profile directors on this list include Tosh.0 director, Scott Zabielski, Mad Men and Breaking Bad director, Phil Abraham and "Grandma's Boy" for Happy Madison director, Nicholaus Goossen.
