WORK Editorial welcomes the award-winning film and commercial editor Rami D’Aguiar to its global roster.
D’Aguiar, celebrated for his emotional and rhythmic approach to storytelling, will be represented by WORK across all territories.
He joins the company following a string of high-profile industry accolades, including Editor of the Year at the shots Awards The Americas. His distinctive work has earned top honours at Cannes Lions, Ciclope, D&AD, the Clio Awards, and the AICP Show for Best Editing, alongside three Best Editor wins at Brazil’s WHEXT Awards.
“It really is an honour to have Rami join WORK. My partners and I have been admirers of his work for a very long time,” says Founding Partner Jane Dilworth. “Rami has a rare talent for finding the emotion in a film and is an incredibly skilled editor. He fits in perfectly with our core ethos of believing in ourselves, trust in each other and a love of the craft. We are genuinely thrilled to welcome him to WORK!”
Raised in Brazil within a highly creative family, D’Aguiar's passion for visual storytelling was cemented while studying photography in California. During his four years in the US, alongside college, he took a sixmonth editing course and discovered that his fascination wasn’t just with the image itself, but with how choosing and moving between frames could tell a story. Six months after completing the course, he moved back to Brazil to begin his career as an editor. After starting out in Belo Horizonte, he moved to São Paulo and went on to build an internationally recognised career, collaborating with directors, agencies and global brands including Nike, Apple, Adidas, Ford, Kia and Movistar, among others, across Brazil, the US and Europe.
Known for edits that prioritise the internal rhythm of a film over an imposed style, the edit shouldn’t announce itself. “I am always looking for the emotion, rhythm and personality of a film’ D’Aguiar said, “For me, the best edits are the ones where you stop thinking about the cuts and just feel the film. The most rewarding part is seeing a piece of work continue to resonate with people long after the campaign is finished.”
To D’Aguiar, connection is key. Understanding when to push an idea, when to listen, when to let something breathe, and when to know that everyone has simply seen the same shot too many times. "Being a great editor isn’t only about knowing how to cut, it’s also about knowing how to communicate, collaborate and make people feel comfortable in the room. And of course never stop evolving and being curious."
D’Aguiar’s decision to join WORK stems from a shared dedication to high-end collaboration. “Work has an incredible creative legacy, but what really attracted me was the ambition. They have a very high bar for the work and a roster of editors whose voices and styles are genuinely distinct. I’ve always admired the way they approach the industry and, more importantly, the kind of work they champion. Getting to know them and seeing how passionate they are about the company made the decision feel natural".
