radioaktivefilm shares a heartbreaking update from Ukraine
This media deck from the Kyiv-based company conveys the shocking reality of war in Ukraine and how the production community is responding.
One month on from the start of the Russian atrocities, the team at radioaktivefilm wanted to update you on some of the horrific happenings on the ground, alongside the support initiatives and partnerships that have evolved in response to the critical situation.
Here they share some personal information about those they have lost, those who are injured, those who are fighting or held hostage, plus the efforts of those who have relocated out of Ukraine and continue to offer support.
The industry was fast to spring into action with funding packages via The APA in London and AICP in New York. Warsaw, Poland immediately became the hub of their complex humanitarian mission, a base radioaktivefilm have shared with Twentyfour Seven since 2020.
From here they have not only coordinated a complex support mission but also serviced the production business, with the continuing presence of UK and US production teams who are moving heaven and earth to shoot with them there.
This is a vital part of the recovery process for not only the radioaktivefilm team, but also their supporting crews and talent and other production teams and companies. Everyone needs to work to support their families and adapt to their current circumstances.
As part of this support, Twentyfour Seven has offered the use of their offices in Portugal and Spain to radioaktivefilm, where clients want to shoot with the radioaktive team and Lux Artists have also agreed to work with them in any location at local rates for DoPs, Production Designers etc, in an effort to keep business as usual.
JWC production service partners The Lift and Twentyfour Seven - have also offered a percentage of their profits towards the humanitarian effort and to sponsor radioaktivefilm teams to work with them on projects in their own territories.
The company conveyed its gratitude to the APA and AICP for their work so far and for the hundreds of messages and offers of work support from the production community.
PLEASE KEEP SENDING YOUR BIDS AND CONTINUE TO WORK WITH RADIOAKTIVEFILM WHERE YOU CAN TO SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCTION TEAMS AND THE UKRANIAN PEOPLE DURING THIS WAR.
