With car manufacturers facing the need to address the climate crisis, last year Mercedes-Benz announced Ambition 2030, a 20-year plan to evolve their fleet away from fossil fuels to renewable energy and produce a fleet of completely carbon-neutral cars.
Titled The Race, this spec commercial visualises Mercedes’ project by expressing the shared strivings of a human athlete – and a Mercedes GT63s – to constantly move forward and get ahead of the game.
Together with DP Moritz Moessinger, director Maik Ludemann collaborated with Hamburg-based film professionals and post facilities to create an exceedingly well crafted blend of VFX, analog and digital imagery. From planning to final cut the film took a year to make, with three days of shooting and two months of post-production.
A cool soundscape from BLUT Audio adds extra texture.
