Last week saw the wonderful Village East Cinema in Manhattan play host to Source(E)Creative's latest Presents screening. Gathering together all of the top names in the NY advertising and production community, alongside ace sponsors Sonic Union, the evening provided a unique industry get-together alongside an exclusive screening of shorts and music videos from up-and-coming directorial talent.

Hosting the show was Worldwide Editor Jamie Madge who kicked off proceedings by conducting a Q&A with director Dennis Liu. Talking us through a selection of his work, from the Saatchi & Saatchi NDS featured breakthrough 'Again and Again' to the companion film to his innovative comic book 'Raising Dion', the chat contained some interesting titbits for aspiring filmmakers together with compelling comments about the issues of storytelling from and about minorities.

Following the discussion came the selection of films, containing many never-before included in a Presents screening. Popular highlights included Inigo Westmeier's incredible, documentary-based music video for Genera8ion + M.I.A's 'The New International Sound Pt. II' (check out our interview with the director here), Giant Ant's fast-paced and glorious 'Tako Faito' and the dream-like voyage of R113's 'Acid Rain' promo for Lorn. As a special treat, guests were also given a sneak peak of the new-look Source Creative site and logo (as the images attest!). If you're curious, you can find out more here.

The evening finished off with a lively drink in the theatre's attractive lobby, where friends old and new discussed the work and tried their best to look pretty for the photographers. To see how the whole thing went down (and to get tagging), check out the screening and step-and-repeat images on our Facebook page.
