What’s the best promo you’ve seen recently and why?

Rosalia - Malamente.

Any video that features an arresting performance and feels like it communicates something directly from the artist makes me happy.

And what’s your all-time favourite music video?

Can’t do one favorite, but I love Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet. It’s from a time where it feels like they’re still figuring out what a music video is.

What other directors/artists do you look to for inspiration?

Walter De Maria, Kanye West, Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry. Francis (of Francis and the Lights) always offers inspiration even on the videos we don’t do together.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Rosalia - El Mal Querer, Metro Boomin’ Not All Heroes Wear Capes, Mitski Be The Cowboy

What’s your favourite bit of tech, whether for professional or personal use?

The Hyperlapse app is a nice simple way to stabilize iPhone videos if you're trying to work out a shot.

What artist(s) would you most like to work with and why?

I already get to work with a lot of my favorite artists, so I’m pretty happy. But let’s say Beyonce, no explanation necessary.

How do you feel the promo industry has changed since you started in it?

These days it seems like everyone just makes videos with their friends, and that seems like a good system to me.

Where do you see the music video industry being in five years’ time?

I don’t know a lot about the industry. I definitely think people will still be making music videos.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know…

When I was young I would walk myself home from the bus stop and throw a baseball against a net in the backyard that would “throw" it back to you until my parents got home.
