Pick Your Tears Up with Grace Carter
Sumptuously shot on 16mm the film contrasts images of performance and performed perfection with more transcendent, emotional and raw moments of vulnerability, passion and acceptance.
Director Iggy London collaborates with UK singer songwriter Grace Carter on her euphoric new single Pick Your Tears Up.
The film is a serenely composed exploration into girlhood, growing up and self love told through a series of scenes with Carter and five young women who represent elements of the artist’s younger self.

There is a sense of healing throughout the film that responds to Carter’s own journey with the track, which she wrote as a love song to herself. “I was struggling to let go of the past and the things that hurt me,” says Carter. “This song felt like the start of me finding [my voice] again. In a way, I guess this song is the most “me” sounding thing I’ve ever made.”
Park Pictures' Iggy London first shoots the subjects of Pick Your Tears Up in reverent tableaux that make them feel sculptural and statuesque. The illusion is shattered as the track crescendos through bursts of unrestrained, ecstatic movement and Carter’s transformative submersion in water.
