Directed by Pete Riski through Directors Guild, this powerful short promotional film was created for Tommi Laiho’s latest crime novel, Broken Ones.
Known for his emotion-filled directing work for major brands worldwide, Riski takes inspiration from Laiho’s writing to tell an intriguing and atmospheric tale that leaves us wanting more. The short film embodies the key elements of the novel, giving the viewer a taste of its dark, psychological themes without giving the story away.
“Books are all about emotions and experiencing different worlds and that’s why a regular kind of a story felt a bit thin when it comes to peaking the audiences’ interest towards the book,'' Pete Riski explained. “If we’re selling emotions in hardcover, we need to touch the emotive parts in people’s minds.”
