In this powerful short film for sports drink brand Reign Total Body Fuel, KODE director Pete Banks captures how ex-soldier James Simpson’s passion for Wheelchair Rugby changed his life for the better, after a devastating military injury.
In a raw and emotionally charged interview shot entirely on film, the athlete explains how he lost both of his legs after unknowingly stepping on an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) whilst in Afghanistan.
Fuelled by Bank’s own passion for sport psychology and athleticism, the moving and uplifting documentary reveals how Rugby League became a place for Simpson to test his mind and body, using his undefeatable attitude and positivity to push himself beyond what he thought possible.
