Lou Reed’s emotional 1972 hit Perfect Day plays against a sombre New York cityscape as the sweet story unfolds leading to a dramatic climax on Brooklyn Bridge.

Spotlighting the mental health benefits of pets, The Bridge was written and produced by Klick Health, animated by Lightfarm Studios, and tells the affecting story of an isolated man who reaches the conclusion that life isn’t worth living anymore.

He is literally saved from the brink by a raggedy mutt leading a parallel existence of rejection. Klick Health creative and the film's co-writer Bernardo Romero came up with the idea for the short after losing his own dog and hearing this heart-warming tale of salvation from a stranger on the New York subway.

Romero commented: “I hope The Bridge will serve as a catalyst for more life-changing encounters between pets and people, and will help PAWS NY to continue ensuring these important, but often overlooked, life-saving bonds form.”

The mission of Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) NY is to help New York City’s most vulnerable residents remain with their pets by delivering critical programs and services that preserve the beneficial human-animal bond.
