After an incredibly fast start to 2023, Papaya Films is adding six exciting new directors to its already eclectic global roster. 

Representing a diverse array of different styles, each of these directors offer a unique mix of experience and knowledge, further emphasising Papaya’s desire to support the most dynamic, up and coming talent possible.

Lua Voigt: Believing in evoking emotion in every inch of her work, Lua Voigt is a Brazilian director characterised by her stunning camera technique, transitions and vignettes. Based in Lisbon, her unique flair and desire to capture otherwise fleeting moments has seen her create projects for Pantene, Dove and Samsung, always bringing something unexpected to the frame.

Giorgio Bruni: Having honed his skills in the fast-paced world of sport, London born Giorgio Bruni has developed an incredible eye for visual storytelling. Global projects for Vans, Nivea and Nike has seen him work with the likes of Eden Hazard, Luis Suárez and Paul Pogba, each time bringing their talent to life in a striking and memorable way.

Mauri Chifflet: Combining his early love of documentary with strong visual narrative, Mauri Chifflét creates work defined by poetic realism told through beautiful cinematic imagery. Born in Montevideo, but raised in Sweden, this multicultural background and highly distinctive style has seen him thrive in the automobile world, creating work for Toyota, Lexus and RAM.

Julia Rogowska: Known for her intimate approach on set, Julia Rogowska likes to be close to the action. Since winning the Papaya Young Directors Contest in 2015, she has refined her humourous, often surreal style to create stories that continually surprise and delight in every frame. With a vivid use of colour and VFX, her imaginative approach has seen her create award-winning work for Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and McDonald’s, with her film for AXA’s ‘Smart Bell’ Campaign winning Silver and Bronze at the 2017 Cannes Lions.

Lonan Garcia: Marrying a rare combination of technical mastery and artistic vision, Lonan García is a unique talent. Based in Barcelona, his early production design experience and innate passion for cinema has given him the ability to create provocative, yet playful work defined by stunning in-camera effects and seamless transitions. This instinctive approach to filmmaking has seen him create work all over the world for the likes of eBay, Lidl and Amazon Prime.

Kosta Glusica: Bringing an authentic, human touch to everything he does, Kosta Glušica is a natural storyteller. Having started out as a DOP, his striking use of colour and innovative VFX create work filled with emotion, shown most clearly by his captivating dance sequences. This uniquely expressive style has made him sought after across the industry, working on a wide range of projects from advertising commercials to features.
