London based P&S Studios are thrilled to be part of the launch of CIRCA 2020 - an innovative new platform showcasing digital art from emerging and established artists.
Every day both online and on the iconic Piccadilly Lights in London at 20:20 GMT/BST. Ben Hauke, head of P&S Studios and lead sound engineer crafted original composition, sound design and mix for the powerful launch film, directed by Rodrigo Inada.
The collaboration came about when film director Rodrigo Inada and creative producer Jackson Forsythe met at P&S event ‘Make Noise’ held at Ogilvy London at the end of 2019. “After attending our event a few months ago Jackson reached out to us to ask if we could help with the music and sound for the CIRCA launch film. The film is beautifully crafted and carries an important, positive and hopeful message for the future that we all need right now so we were excited and humbled to be asked to be involved.” - P&S

“Working with Rodrigo on this project was an ideal relationship for any collaborator, there was trust. I understood what he needed straight away, and separated the role into two categories; sound design and music. The music had to be subtle yet thoughtful, as anything too sentimental or busy would have distracted us from the message. Similarly with the SFX, I wanted to find a balance of abstract and natural sounds, but not too weird that it takes our focus away from the tone of the film. Even though I separated the roles of music and SFX, the end result was to make the sound as a whole convey like the same message, warm, thoughtful and powerful..”

Circa Art’s inaugural exhibition c.20:20, disrupts the adverts for two minutes every day at 20:20 BST/GMT, with new ideas that consider our world circa 2020.
The exhibition launches on Thursday 1st October 2020 with a breathtaking new film by Ai Wei Wei.
