One Track Mind: Lucy Forbes
SMUGGLER director Lucy Forbes can't resist a particular dance floor, feel-good banger, and reveals one music genre that makes her ears bleed as she tells us about her Isolation Radio Station playlist.
What’s the song you’ve listened to most during this isolation period?
Wigwam by Bob Dylan has been my go-to ‘everything is going to ok’ song. It literally makes me breathe out a small sign of relief when I hear it.
What track always gets you in the dance floor?
Do I Do by Stevie Wonder; classic dance floor filler, feel-good banger.
What’s your guilty pleasure track?
For me, there are two different types of guilty pleasure track; there’s the classic ‘happy to admit it’ guilty pleasure track, which for me is Where Do You Go To (My Lovely) by Peter Sarstedt. Then there’s deep cut ‘tinged with shame but can’t help myself’ guilty, and for me that’s Never Tear Us Apart by INXS.
What song makes you turn off the stereo when it comes on?
Teen pop makes my ears bleed.
We can’t go out right now, but when we’re finally allowed to head out for a night on the town, what track will you listen to while you’re getting ready?
That night is going to taste so sweet. Jump to It by Aretha Franklin always gets me in the mood for walking (shuffling) out with my dancing shoes on.
