Created by Le Truc and directed by Haya Waseem through Object & Animal, the film is part of a wider campaign that aims to erase the stigma and insecurity employees with cancer face at work.

Titled Work Life, the film visualises the inner torment of sufferers as they try to hide symptoms such as nausea at business lunches, or desperation and fear while giving presentations or attempting jollity with colleagues. Ultimately, some may even seem more frightened of losing their jobs than their lives.

After being diagnosed and treated for cancer last year, Arthur Sadoun, CEO of Publicis Groupe launched Working With Cancer at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The program is a cross-industry coalition that unites major international companies and charities in a pledge to create an open and supportive culture for cancer sufferers.

After making his condition public, Sadoun received thousands of emails that exposed the fear cancer sufferers experienced, not only for their lives, but also for their jobs. Those messages reflected an unsettling reality – 50 per cent of cancer patients are afraid to tell their employer about their diagnosis.
