Not To Scale signs director Jovardi
The filmmaker brings his mixed-media approach spanning live action, animation and digital design to the company's US roster.
Mixed-media director Jovardi has joined Not To Scale for US representation, bringing a filmmaking approach that moves between live action, animation and design.
His work combines visual effects with 2D and 3D animation, creating colourful, fast-moving worlds that shift between different mediums and visual styles. With a distinctly internet-native sensibility, his films draw on contemporary digital culture, combining playful imagery with energetic camerawork.
Jovardi’s creative perspective has been shaped by years working in digital content, most recently as creative director at Artlist and Motion Array. His experience has given him an understanding of evolving visual culture and how brands can engage with it.
Dan O’Rourke, founder and executive producer of Not To Scale, says: “We’re really excited to welcome Jovardi onto the Not To Scale roster for U.S. representation. Jonathan is a hugely versatile filmmaker with strong live-action skills, combining energetic, dynamic camerawork with design, animation and VFX to create eye-catching films that have pace and personality.
“We’re producing more and more mixed-media work across the business, so his ability to move seamlessly between live action and animated worlds and meld both together is a great skill fit for us. In addition, his curiosity of emerging AI creative pipelines is another exciting dimension, as there is an increasing demand for artists that can navigate and integrate these capabilities from our U.S. clients.”
The signing continues Not To Scale’s focus on representing directors and artists working across different disciplines, with the studio increasingly exploring projects that combine traditional filmmaking techniques with emerging technologies.
Jovardi says: “I couldn't think of a better moment to join Not To Scale. The industry is rattling and shaking, and finding a production house with the same respect and passion for craft and the same appetite to experiments and avant-garde work means there's thrilling journey ahead of us. Honored to be part of this A-list roster and excited for what's coming.”
