Nomad London's office unveil their brand new, state-of-the-art Sound Department.

This exciting expansion comes with Nomad’s newly opened offices in Borough and marks an exciting period of growth for the company.

The new Sound Department, in addition to the ever-growing Edit, Colour and VFX Departments, makes Nomad a full-service post-house with perfected workflow for post-production. Lead by new hire and industry native, Andy Humphreys, as Head of Sound Production, the two new sound suites and spacious vocal booths are equipped with 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound and top of the line speakers and microphones hooked up to a Pro Tools development MTRX studio for optimal sound experience.

Humphreys brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from his illustrious career in audio production, even having won a British Arrow Ad of the Year award for T-Mobile’s spot Dance in collaboration with Saatchi & Saatchi. Beginning his career as a live sound engineer, he transitioned to audio post-production at Silk Sound where he honed his skills on award-winning radio campaigns, TV documentaries, and an entire series of The Crystal Maze. He quickly became a pioneering cinema mix specialist in the advertising space, joining sister company Space at their inception.

During his 16-year tenure at 750mph as Board Director and Senior Sound Designer, Humphreys collaborated with some of the industry’s most notable directors and brands while growing portfolio with a range of award-winning campaigns. He most recently led the Sound Department at Bark Soho before ultimately finding his home at Nomad. Nomad is thrilled to have him spearheading their new state-of-the-art Sound Department and can’t wait to see (and hear) his work to come.

"Joining Nomad feels like a very natural progression for me. Liv and Martin have a real “can-do” attitude which seems to resonate through the whole company. I’m really excited at the prospect of being a part of a great team I’ve long admired and one that offers the best end-to-end solution for today’s production demands." said Humphreys on joining Nomad as their Head of Sound.

Nomad London’s managing director Liv Lawton Adds: “Building a Sound Department felt like the natural progression for us as a company.  Being able to offer everything under one roof with exceptionally talented artists in each field makes me incredibly proud. Andy is such an extraordinary talent, we’re absolutely thrilled to have him heading up our new department”.
