It’s a sobering truth that only 20% of patients in need of a transplant will find a living donor.
This powerful, two-minute film for Montefiore Einstein follows Nini Skye through her childhood. Getting ice cream, going to the amusement park, having her eighth birthday party—just kid things. We see her carefree, happy, joyful in her world. We also know that she is dying.
Sentimental and, at the same time, unbearably authentic, Live and Let Live was directed by Academy Award-nominated director and filmmaker, Derek Cianfrance. Combining narrative storytelling and digital innovation, the online platform, Live and Let Live that Alto has developed, will allow patients and their families to create films similar to Skye’s, personalized for each patient. While Skye’s story is fictional, Maida Larriuz’s story is not.
