An expression of Nike's new global platform, Play New, this 22-minute documentary follows a young man from London called Tu’Shea as he attempts to conquer his fears through sport.
The film, only available to view in full if you're in the UK or the Republic of Ireland via Channel 4's on demand platform, All4 [sorry, rest of the world], explains how Tu’Shea grew up caring for his mum and how he has struggled with self-doubt his entire life. In the film, called New Heights: London, he takes on the challenge to free dive from the 10 metre board, in front of 200 people. He has just 30 days to find his confidence but, if he succeeds, it could change his life forever. The documentary is a powerful and affecting story about one young man's struggle to find self-worth.
Created by Wieden+Kennedy London and Nike Creative Studio, and directed by Dan Emmerson through Somesuch, the film features top athletes from across the sporting spectrum who mentor Tu’Shea through his journey, including footballer, Adebayo Akinfenwa, world champion heptathlete, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Gloves Not Gunz coach, Precieux Noka and elite diving coach, Sam Buck.
