In unspoken words mxmtoon’s experience with her Asian heritage and her relationship with her grandmother is expressed through an emotional soft-pop track.

As mxmtoon goes through different levels of a pick-your-own video game she deals with the cultural baggage she’s carried during her entire relationship with her grandmother. The song is soft and sweet, and the levels she has to go through are crystalline embodiments of the experience young multi-cultural people have with their families.

Directed by Jane Chow, unspoken words is a fully realized apology presented hand in hand with a celebration of the bridges that cross generations. Sometimes, calling someone you love is the hardest thing, and the final room has mxmtoon belting her feelings into a (micro)phone receiver, hoping that maybe her grandmother will understand.
