Created by NYC-based creative agency Major, Drugs for Plants is a seaweed-based fertilizer for houseplants of all types; the nutrient-rich and water-soluble powder being easily absorbed, improving soil health and plant resilience. So far, so yum.
To advertise this fact, the agency has created a trio of delightfully daft spots that showcase the supplement as some sort of succulent-smack; the poor greenery desperate for another fix.
The films are accompanied by an experiential element, in which the inner cries of the plants in McCarren Park were amplified, making it impossible for passersby to not stop and provide sweet relief to the city's horticultural sistren and brethren. A green, Drugs for Plants watering can awaited them on the ground, along with a sign that read “Feed me.” And so, the plants were fed.
“With this campaign, our main goal is awareness," explains co-founders/creative director Dave Haller. "Both of the product, but also of the silent screams of our plant babies. You can quiet those screams by satiating their nutritional needs.”
