What is the mysterious malady that could prove fatal to a teen girl?

The Epidemic comprises a gripping film building to a climactic cliffhanger ending that can only be resolved by text messages send direct to the viewer. It builds on social activist Lewinsky's previous successful campaigns – the Emmy Nominated In Real Life and #DefyTheName.

Directed by Cole Webley, through Sanctuary, the film follows Hailey as she slowly succumbs to a debilitating illness, to the point where she is in cardiac arrest in hospital. The message “this story is not what it seems” then appears with call to visit a website where viewers can enter their phone numbers and continue to follow the narrative.

They will then watch the film again, but this time accompanied by the same bullying text messages that Hailey receives throughout the story. Timed to coincide with National Bullying Prevention Month, the mixed media of video and text, cleverly highlights how toxic digital comms like cyberbullying can have dire, real-life consequences.
