A new West Coast role at Racket Club sees Michael Frick join as Executive Producer and Music Supervisor, leading the company’s Los Angeles presence.

Frick will help expand Racket Club’s work across music supervision, licensing, artist partnerships and creative music strategy, bringing more than two decades of experience across music, advertising and culture.

After co-founding Mophonics, Frick helped develop a more integrated approach to music for brands, championing artists early in their careers and creating work beyond traditional licensing. His career includes signing Mark Foster before Foster the People, contributing to Apple’s early music initiatives, and helping shape campaigns for Google, DoorDash and QuickBooks.

His experience also spans the business side of music, including licensing, publishing, talent agreements, intellectual property and business affairs, with relationships across artists, labels, publishers, managers and music attorneys.

Frick says: “Racket Club was built around a philosophy I've believed in my entire career, that the best music for picture happens when musicians are part of the creative conversation from the very beginning. The foundation is already here. My goal is to build on it, bringing new opportunities, new relationships, and another level of creative partnership to our clients and the incredible team that's already in place.”

Justin Hori, Partner and Creative Director at Racket Club, says: “Michael brings an extraordinary combination of experience, instinct, and genuine love for music. He champions artists, solves creative challenges, and makes everyone around him better. At his core, he's a music fan first, and that passion is exactly what makes him such a great fit for Racket Club.”

Nick Crane, Co-Founder and Creative Director, adds: “Michael lives and breathes music. He understands every side of this business. From creative, to legal, to business affairs, and that’s incredibly rare. He gives our partners the confidence that the music they’re falling in love with can make it to the finish line. His perspective and enthusiasm will elevate not only our team, but the way our clients think about music from the very start.”

Frick’s appointment reflects Racket Club’s focus on bringing music into the creative process earlier, helping teams make decisions across original music, licensing, creative strategy and business affairs from the start.
