Commercial production company Markenfilm announce the addition of acclaimed director and photographer Meji Alabi to its roster of top-tier talent.

Known for his ability to create compelling, emotive visuals that celebrate Black culture and explore universal themes of love, family, and music, Alabi’s signing marks an exciting new chapter for the company as it continues to expand its creative horizons.

A Nigerian-British director whose work has reached audiences around the globe, Alabi has garnered critical acclaim and industry accolades, including Grammy Awards, for his collaborations with iconic artists such as Beyoncé, Victoria Monet, Tyla, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema, and Stormzy. His music videos are celebrated as cultural touchstones, defining moments that resonate deeply with audiences and spark conversations across continents.

Beyond the music industry, Alabi has made a significant impact in branded content and commercial advertising, lending his unique creative vision to high-profile campaigns for international brands like Cadillac, Guinness, Coca Cola, Oreo, KFC, Toyota, Martell, and Nike. His work is characterised by its energetic, positive tone and, at times, deeply personal narrative, as demonstrated in his campaign films for Malaria No More, which featured global stars including David Beckham and Eliud Kipchoge.

Reflecting on this project, Alabi stated, "We're putting the pressure on malaria. We're attacking it rather than it attacking us. That's the mindset, to move from a position of strength as we tackle this killer." His own experience with malaria during the campaign shoot only reinforced his commitment to the cause, further emphasising his ability to merge personal passion with professional purpose.

As one of the most sought-after directors and photographers in the music industry, Alabi's journey has only just begun. With a knack for pushing creative boundaries and a commitment to excellence, he is poised to leave an indelible mark on the advertising landscape for years to come.
