Markenfilm has signed London-based director Greg Hackett, reinforcing its commitment to filmmakers who combine emotional authenticity with craft excellence.

Known for blending documentary clarity with cinematic scale, Hackett has built a body of work rooted in human truth. His background in editorial storytelling, including collaborations with teams at The New York Times, shaped a disciplined, performance-driven approach that now defines his commercial filmmaking.

He gained international recognition with the Hey Jude campaign for Adidas, one of the most awarded creative projects of 2025. Celebrated for its emotional impact, cultural energy, and strikingly honest visual language, the film showcased Hackett’s ability to fuse music, sport, and storytelling into a powerful cinematic moment. Most recently, Hackett directed Homes of Hockey for RONA, further refining his grounded, character-driven approach, stories shaped by atmosphere, rhythm, and a deep connection to the people on screen. His portfolio includes work for Philips, Sony, Royal Navy, Cartier and National Geographic.

Across editorial, commercial and narrative work, Hackett’s films are defined by emotional precision, thoughtful pacing and a commitment to stories rooted in human truth. For Markenfilm, the signing is part of a deliberate international strategy.

Alexander Husche, CEO Markenfilm, says: “Greg brings something we deeply value at Markenfilm: clarity of craft and vision without ego. His work feels effortless, yet every frame is intentional. He understands performance, rhythm and cultural context in a way that makes films resonate beyond the screen. We see enormous potential in building long-term brand narratives together.”

With offices across Europe and Asia and a long-standing reputation for craft-driven production, Markenfilm has increasingly focused on directors who move fluidly between commercial and narrative worlds. Hackett’s documentary sensibility combined with large-scale brand experience reflects that ambition.

Hackett adds: “Markenfilm has a strong reputation for craft and for backing directors who care about the detail. For me, it’s important to work with partners who believe in pushing cinematic possibilities while staying close to the truth of a story. That alignment felt immediate.”

With Hackett joining the roster, Markenfilm further positions itself as a production partner for brands seeking emotionally intelligent storytelling, films that resonate culturally while maintaining uncompromising craft.
