Marcus Svanberg directs Kiln for Visit Sweden

Moxie Pictures Director Marcus Svanberg helms a tale of bewitching and uncanny folk-horror deep in the woods in the teaser trailer for his beautiful new film for Visit Sweden.

In order to encourage people to experience Sweden's great outdoors as never before, Visit Sweden and agency Weber Shandwick commissioned the internationally-celebrated horror author Ajvide Lindqvist (Let The Right One In) to pen a short audio story that would only be available to listen to in the Swedish countryside.

Entitled Kiln, the story is a sensorial odyssey that takes the listener on a weird and unsettling voyage into the primordial Swedish forest where they meet various mythological creatures from Scandinavian folklore including the mysterious and seductive wood-nymph, the Huldra.

Svanberg writes: "This was a blast. I wrote the screenplay based on the short story from John Ajvide Lindqvist. I was a huge fan of his work growing up so this was a truly amazing experience. I shot it as a 10 minute short film and tried to put as much Swedish folklore in as I could. Is it for real of is it just in his head?... I don't know..."
