Created by Don't Panic, and sensitively directed by BAFTA-nominated Molly Manning-Walker through Rogue Films, the spot powerfully conveys the huge emotional and psychological toll of healthcare workers in a land under siege.
One year on from the Gaza ‘ceasefire’, Palestinian hospital staff are still being killed by Israeli military strikes, forcing trainee medics to step up into vital roles while knowing their lives are at risk.
Starring Palestinian actor Motaz Malhees, star of the acclaimed film The Voice of Hind Rajab, the ad is titled The Class and explores how a new generation of Palestinian doctors are graduating amid a health system in ruins, seeing colleagues die and watching children suffer.
The spot takes direct inspiration from a shocking photograph of 168 doctors receiving their medical certification last December amid the ruins of Shifa Hospital, formerly Gaza’s largest healthcare facility.
