Once again directed by Dom&Nic and produced by Outsider, the team that brought us the M&S Fairy and Percy the Pig adventure last year, this charming spot was created in-house and sees the tree-topping conjuror seeking a pal to share Christmas with.
Discounting an array of characters hanging around her Christmas tree, she finds a like-minded chum in the dishevelled Duckie, voiced by Jennifer Saunders, a chew toy on the brink of disintegration thanks to the attentions of Wylie the dog.
Fairy cheers her new mate by magicking up some tasty M&S nosh, tantalisingly shot by Gus Filgate, through BITE Collective. She also becomes, almost literally, the wind beneath Duckie’s wings when she helps her fly away from the rampaging mutt.
Sharry Cramond, Director of Marketing and Hospitality at M&S Food, says: “We couldn’t resist reuniting two British icons in Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders with the British icon that is M&S. It’s a match made in heaven.”
French commented: “I had the time of my life lending my voice to the Fairy that brought Percy Pig to life last year. I was so excited that M&S wanted to bring her back for more adventures and this time with a trusty new sidekick. To have my right-hand-woman back as that sidekick… well, obviously it was a yes with festive bells on from me.”
The campaign went live on social channels today and made its TV debut on ITV’s This Morning.
