Bonaparte has signed Czech director Lubos Rezler for representation across the US and DACH markets.
Rezler’s work moves between fiction, documentary, experimental formats and commercial storytelling, driven by strong visual thinking and emotional instinct. His films often blur the line between stylisation and authenticity, pairing carefully composed imagery with a grounded, human sensibility.
A graduate of FAMU’s Center for Audiovisual Studies and the Film Academy in Písek, Rezler first gained attention with his short Tunel, which received the Panavision Young Cinematographer Award. He later joined Julius Ševčík’s The Glass Room as a second unit director, further developing his cinematic approach.
Since then, Rezler has built a diverse body of work spanning intimate short films and visually driven commercial campaigns for brands including Apple, Adidas, Škoda, T-Mobile, Nespresso, Wolt and Snuggs. His music video Weirdo earned a Vimeo Staff Pick, while his short documentary Faunafilms was featured by Director’s Library. He has also been recognised in the Film Craft category of the Czech Art Directors Club Awards.
Speaking about joining Bonaparte, Rezler said: “Bonaparte had been on my radar for a long time. Their work carries a sensibility I recognise. Joining them felt instinctive, a new tribe, a shared language. I’m excited about what stories and visual worlds we’ll discover together.”
Bonaparte co-founder Nico Kreis added: “The level of creativity and craft in Lubos’s work is extraordinary. It truly reflects the buzzing artistic scene of his hometown, Prague. We’re excited to help one of the finest Czech filmmakers step onto the global stage. Welcome to Bonaparte, Lubos Rezler.”
