Lockt Editorial welcomes Miles Cable, Dan Abraham, and Cal Laird to their roster talent.
The team at Lockt Editorial welcomes Miles Cable, Dan Abraham, and Cal Laird to their roster of multi-dimensional, next-gen editorial talent.
Originally established as an editorial division of Stept in 2014, Lockt spun out in 2021 as a stand-alone operation sought after by brands, agencies, and other production companies. Lockt has become known for their cutting-edge talent and unique combination of editorial, finishing, sound, animation, and visual effects all under one roof. These exciting recent additions will continue to expand Lockt's capabilities.
Dan Abraham is an award-winning editor who grew up in São Paulo, Brazil. Drawn to editing from a young age, Abraham quickly moved from cutting his own personal projects to becoming a sought after editor for top brands including Nike, Instagram, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Honda, Fiat, Ford, and Budweiser, and has been sought after by directors such as the Friedman Sisters, Tino, and Salsa. Known for his thrilling visual style, Abraham has the distinction of receiving the first Grand Prix awarded to a Brazilian production company at the Cannes Lions, for Leica 100. He also garnered a Silver Craft Lion, among other awards, for his editing on the film Endless Stories, for Getty Images.
“At Lockt, there’s a feeling that anything is possible,” said Abraham. “The moment I discovered their work, I reached out to collaborate. I’m so excited to join a team that encourages us to take risks and push the envelope.”
A Chicago native and NYC resident, Miles Cable honed his editorial prowess as a teenager, chopping his own self-directed projects. Soon known for his unique ability to infuse films with an unexpected edge, he began editing commercials and music videos. Continuing to build upon his filmmaking talents, Cable now works as an Unreal Engine artist, allowing him to create digital worlds and products faster than ever before. He has left his mark on recent projects for Callaway, Whoop, Best Buy, Apple, as well as notable films for Nike, Discover Card, and Warner Brothers Music.
Cable shares, “I’m always looking for new techniques and applications to allow me to tell visually stunning, compelling stories. Not only does the team at Lockt appreciate this hunger and drive, they encourage it.”
Growing up on set alongside his actress sister in Chicago, Cal Laird developed his hypnotic and evocative style from a young age by editing music videos for artists such as Doja Cat, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, and Roddy Rich, amongst others. Laird translated his unique storytelling techniques to films for renowned
brands, including Nike, Samsung, Adidas, Oakley, MLB, Levi’s, and MTV.
Laird said, “I’m very excited to call Lockt my new home. They’ve quickly gained the reputation for producing outstanding work by using the latest technology and innovative storytelling.”
Connor Scofield, Lockt partner and president said, “Miles, Dan, and Cam represent the best of the next generation of talent. They grew up by experimenting with the latest technology; they’re nimble first-adopters who make their own rules, do their own VFX work. This is what makes Lockt so special; we are led by a roster of innovative creatives who continue to push our industry forward.”
