Leaning into gravity

Making use of an excellent stage setup, two dancers walk around a platform that spins underneath their feet 

The effect of Inner Light is mesmerizing. Two dancers on opposite ends of a stage that rotates within a gallery move in tandem. They meet and separate, walk together and pause in coordinated motions; a movement of movements that makes the entire film feel vicariously dizzying. Paired with a background that is austere, the camera becomes a third character, spinning above and around the two dancers. 

Filmed at The Pantheon in Paris, Inner Light was directed by Louise Narboni and Yoann Bourgeois. Bourgeois also choreographed the dance routine.
