Directed by Daniel Warwick through Scoundrel, Summer Never Sleeps follows a group of friends on a whimsical camping adventure that ebbs and flows in a psychedelic haze from day to night and back again.
Since sleep no longer holds sway, everything associated with it has been repurposed throughout the film; pillows become campfire marshmallows, nocturnal animals transform into DJ’s and animated cartoon sheep nod off while counting humans.
The light-hearted and quirky film has was shot on 16mm film, it features the colourful mixed media aesthetic the "We're out there" platform has become known for, and is soundtracked by Jimmy Renda-se by Tom Zé.
