Joining Curate Films is Justice Mukheli, a highly acclaimed South African film director, photographer and artist.

His work pushes boundaries, explores themes of identity, culture, and social issues with a focus on inspiring stories that need to be heard.

Born in Johannesburg and raised in Soweto, his childhood experiences of community street art and music shaped his creative work from a young age. His background in Fine art and Photography aid his vibrant, visual storytelling and artistic expression in all his films, using multiple mediums to blend emotion and experience.

Mukheli's work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions both locally and internationally, including the Venice Biennale, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and the Design Indaba. In 2017, he directed his first short film, Dear Brother, which was selected for the Durban International Film Festival and received critical acclaim.
