Knucklehead announce the UK & US signing of French director and photographer Jules Renault for commercials and music videos.

Renault began his career making music and skate videos between New York and Los Angeles before making a huge splash in the commercial world with his Outlaw Runners print & film campaign for boutique Parisian running store Distance.

Heavily awarded at Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show and Clios in 2022, the campaign cheekily draws attention to the 30 kilometres per hour speed limit in central Paris by challenging a group of athletes to run through the streets at full speed with the sole intention of getting fined, putting speed cameras to the test for one night only. Distance then used the images captured by the speed cameras for an outdoor guerilla campaign.

Both a director and photographer, Renault definitely draws inspiration from his roots in hip-hop, fashion, street culture, cinema and skating. That love for street married with his fresh eye for craft has allowed him to work with the likes of Adidas, Reebok, Acuitis, Hennessy and, most recently, Club Med via 180 Amsterdam, and with music artists such as Ghetts, Ray BLK and Doums.

His latest doc project Crown Heights Suspended in Time resulted in a gallery show in Paris and limited edition prints.

Knucklehead’s Head of Talent, Claire Leaver said: “Jules’ work is a breath of fresh air, fun, irreverent and stylish, everything we love in a Knucklehead. We can’t wait to make beautiful work with him.”

Jules Renault adds: "Sunny vibes and stubbornness are what I cherish the most in this industry and I feel that's what Knucklehead is about. I'm just thrilled to start a new adventure with a new family!”

Jules is represented by Soldats for the rest of the world.
