Production company JOJX signs Jake Dypka to its esteemed roster of directors.

Celebrated for his versatility and innovative techniques, Dypka has built a reputation for character-driven comedy that never fails to bring a smile. From depicting seniors raving for OnePlus to capturing heat sweats with thermal mapping for Burger King, and exploring flash photography for Samsung, Dypka excels at infusing joy into unexpected moments while demonstrating a strong understanding of comedic timing. Skilled at grounding absurd messages in reality and delivering true to brand, Dypka masterfully creates resonance and relishes the nuances of human relatability.

Dypka’s work is characterised by wry-wit, intentional camera work and meticulous attention to detail. His thoughtful frame compositions and unique camera angles create striking visuals that stand alone as stills, and together form intricately-believable worlds. Constantly reinventing his aesthetic with each project, Dypka consistently subverts expectations. With a diverse body of work for brands like Tinder, Hims, Klarna, Cancer Research and Babbel, he proves to be a collaborative partner to brands wanting to create something truly memorable.

“The chemistry I felt with the JOJX team was instant,” says Dypka. “It truly felt like fate brought us together. Their passion for creative collaboration and commitment to excellence made me feel right at home. JOJX’s ethos and vision aligns perfectly with my own, and I’m thrilled about the potential to create work that reflects authentic human experiences. When you focus on projects true to your style, you naturally attract people who want to bring out your creative voice. The best projects happen when everyone is aligned and pulling in the same direction.”

“I’ve been an admirer of Jake’s work for quite some time,” says Jackson Morton, founder and EP at JOJX. “It’s a rare pleasure to witness a director evolve with such refinement and skill. Jake really is a remarkable talent and I’m inspired by his journey. His versatility is impressive; he defies categorization and continues to explore new genres in a way that feels authentic. His willingness to tackle fresh material is incredibly refreshing.”

Beginning his career editing martial arts training DVDs, Dypka transitioned to commercials, quickly earning acclaim for his innovative and experimental storytelling. His accolades include winning the Young Directors Award at Cannes Lions and directing the opening film for the Saatchi & Saatchi Young Directors Showcase, thanks to his ongoing creative collaboration with UK poet Holie McNish. He has also received awards from the UK Music Video Awards, Kinsale Sharks, 1.4 Awards, Webby Awards and more. Dypka has established a name for himself in the industry, adapting his style to suit each brief and embracing challenges fearlessly.

“Jake’s storytelling is incredibly compelling; with every campaign he releases, there’s another layer of depth he’s exploring,” says Sevasti Buford, executive producer at JOJX. “He consistently surprises, actively building on strong foundations through genre exploration, production trickery and rich character development. I’m excited to watch him continue to grow.”

Dypka’s signing represents JOJX’s continued commitment to expanding its roster, following Buford’s recent appointment as Executive Appointment and other new signings, further solidifying the company’s position as a leader in innovative commercial filmmaking.
