There’s more than a touch of David Lynch to Johan Renck’s ultra-cool new film for Gucci.
From the moody Blue Velvet-esque lighting to Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game, memorably used in Wild at Heart, And We Shall Dance Again: Gucci Primavera channels a deliciously off-kilter sensibility into a sultry tale of love on the dance floor.
Featuring the collection presented at artistic director Demna’s first runway show for the fashion house - including the full-length sequinned gown Moss wore to close it - the film lets lingering looks give way to tentative movement, as strangers pair off beneath the model’s hypnotic gaze.
Produced by RESET, the short follows The Tiger, co-directed by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn, and Generation Gucci, directed by Jonathan Glazer, as another beguilingly bizarre entry in the Gucci auteur cinematic universe.
