IXYXI scores a party with Audemars Piguet and KeineMusik

Audemars Piguet and KeineMusik have teamed up on a film directed by Paul Hermann and produced by Hillton.

The director travelled with the KeineMusik collective, capturing the global party scene and the lives of the artists behind it: Rampa, &ME, and Adam Port. The film goes beyond showcasing parties and the hedonistic lifestyle, delving into the hard work and dedication that propelled the group to become one of Berlin's most influential collectives. It also features scenes of Rampa in his studio and highlights 'Teile', the hardware company he founded to explore his passion for engineering and technology.

IXYXI was responsible for composing original Music and handling the Sound Design & Sound Mix for the film. This was a unique project, as they had to create 10 different musical compositions that seamlessly blended with KeineMusik's tracks, ensuring a cohesive musical narrative.

“When we began composing the music, we quickly realized that the film would require multiple themes," explains IXYXI. "Speaking with Paul Hermann, we both wanted the soundtrack to be as dynamic as the scenes it accompanies, but it also needed to maintain a sense of cohesion throughout.

"Our approach was to envision the music as an album or playlist that could have been played during Paul’s journey, each piece designed not just as a brief snippet but as a full track that harmonizes with the others, much like when an artist crafts an album or a DJ curates a set. During the process we would constantly ask ourselves things like “this sounds cool, but would it be on the album?” ”

For the sound design, IXYXI blended detailed, sensory-rich sounds with lo-fi audio from Paul’s handycam recordings. To achieve this, they integrated several live recordings from the artists’ performances alongside day-to-day scenes from the touring life. This approach provided a striking contrast between the clean, crisp sounds and the raw, low-fi audio captured with the cam recorder.
