Production company Impossible Studios announce the signing of director duo, Hot Icarus to their growing roster.

"When I started Impossible, I wanted to be intentional about who we sign.” says Marco D’Angelo, EP of Impossible Studios. “We didn’t want a big roster. But a carefully curated one. When I met Win and Giles back in 2024, we clicked instantly.”

While their interests span a broad spectrum of commercial work, Hot Icarus resist being boxed into a single genre or style. What consistently draws them in is the challenge itself: an opportunity to solve something creatively. Regardless of whether a project leans heavily on technical innovation or visual spectacle, their approach is rooted in finding an emotional core, bringing a human perspective to ideas that might otherwise feel purely functional or technology-driven.

At a time when emerging technologies and cost efficiencies often dominate production conversations, the duo express a clear preference for being trusted to simply direct. For them, the most exciting opportunities arise when agencies and clients hand over a brief with confidence, allowing the filmmaking process to be guided by creative instinct rather than dictated by whatever tools or techniques happen to be in vogue.

That same philosophy extends to the scripts that catch their attention. Rather than piecing together a collection of fashionable visual references, they gravitate toward work with a strong, singular point of view. A script that leaves space for interpretation and collaboration, rather than prescribing every stylistic choice, signals a level of trust that they find energizing, opening the door to a more considered and original execution.

D’Angelo adds, “Hot Icarus possesses a rare kind of creative conviction and a focus on craft that is hard to find. They simply wont let anything come between them and creating something wonderful.”
