Going from strength to strength with his solo career after winning at both the Grammy’s and the Brit Awards last year, Harry Styles’ new video launches a new era for the pop star before the release of his third studio album.
The first single released since his 2019 album Fine Line, As It Was is accompanied by a colourful and stunning video directed by UnderWonder’s Ukrainian director, Tanu Muino.
Muino commented, “shooting Harry was bittersweet, as it was one of the happiest days of my life, but on the second day of the shoot, my country Ukraine was invaded, so you can imagine the insane emotions we had while shooting. Me and my team from Ukraine poured so much love into this video, and you can see it on screen.”
Love is something that comes through in the entire video, from the lyrics to the locations. An ode to the capital city, the film features shots around London of Barbican, Berthold Lubetkin’s Penguin Pool in London Zoo and inside the central hall at Camberwell’s South London Gallery, an ode to the capital city.
The video is kicked off with a soundbite from Styles’ god-daughter speaking down the phone; “come on Harry we want to say goodnight to you.”
Having already made his mark in fashion with iconic photoshoots for the likes of Vogue and Dazed, long-term stylist Harry Lambert once again does not miss the mark with the costumes in this video. We see Styles dressed in a full red sequinned ‘80s style leotard whilst performing distinctly Harry Styles-like choreography.
