With vaccination rates for Black Americans and Latinos lower than average in many states, The William Julius Wilson Institute at Harlem Children's Zone has launched One Decision For Us, a powerful poetry-led piece that acknowledges the distrust and hesitancy.
Written and performed by spoken-word artist Justice Davis, the yarn is assisted by emotional depictions of hardships communities faced during the pandemic, empowering moments of getting vaccinated, and how the decision to do so can define people and cultures most impacted by Covid.
Developed by VaynerMedia and shot by LA-based filmmakers Reel Goats, the short uses recognisable imagery - communities holding photos of loved-ones, intimate close-ups of disparate faces - that is held together by Davis' natural charm and impassioned delivery.
