Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Zoe Saldana star in Dubai's tourism campaign
VIRTUE and DCTCM team up to unveil short film, A Story Takes Flight, a tale of self-discovery featuring Hollywood A-Listers showcasing the cultural diversity of the city.
Dubai’s Corporation of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) and VIRTUE, the creative agency by VICE, Globally launch A Story Takes Flight.
An 8 minute short film that follows Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Zoe Saldana as they immerse themselves on a journey of discovery throughout Dubai. The Hollywood stars each take on their own adventure as they seek to explore the city’s diverse attractions, filled with moments of inspiration, discovery, and human connections.
The film is shot by Emmy and Director’s Guild award-winning director, Reed Morano from Pulse Films - the award-winning Global talent and production company in which VICE owns stake. Reed Morano is known for Beyonce’s Lemonade video and productions such as The Handmaid's Tale and Kill Your Darlings.

A Story Takes Flight was shot with a crew from over thirty nationalities, evoking the spirit of a city born from multiculturalism. Following Morano’s immersive, natural, and cinematic style, the film aims to capture the essence of each actress and the unknown of the city. An exploration of the city that sees Paltrow follow her passion for photography leading her to make new friends in Dubai. Hudson is on a journey of finding art and music in the old town of Dubai. And from the desert to the city, Saldana moves from the desert adventures in to the city.
