Previously only available to those subscribed to the MUBI streaming platform, this short film for Gucci has been released to the wider world and introduces us to Sabato De Sarno, the Creative Director of the renowned fashion house.
Directed by Henry & Rel through Moxie Pictures, the 20-minute film follows De Sarno as he prepares for his first show as the creative head of the brand, and tells us not only the story of Gucci but of De Sarno himself, a person who, to-this-point, has remained in the background but whose elevation to such an exalted position in the fashion industry means he must step into the limelight.
Narrated by actor Paul Mescal and focussing on the run-up to a show which is initially scheduled to happen in the backstreets of Italian town Brera, but which is thwarted by the weather, the film follows De Sarno, his staff and the myriad models, creators and other fashionistas as the show takes shape ahead of the arrival of fashion and Hollywood dignitaries.
