This new black and white music video for Ghostpoet, shot by Thomas James though OB Management, sees Ghostpoet, AKA Obaro Ejimiwe, share a room with a nightmarish figure, slick with an oily, black substance, writhing on the ceiling in a series of contorted poses.
"For me the track is about a sort of existential crises." says James. "A 4am dreamy panic that, maybe, most of the things we strive for are a little pointless. I liked the idea of trying to embody this in a nightmarish, reality bending world. Something where dread was personified and made you feel icky."
The shoot involved building two separate, identical sets, one of which was upside down, the other being its exact reflection. "We also had to hang Obaro upside down, and cover him in the ooze," continues James, "which he was freakishly good at. Our lead female was an incredibly talented trapeze artist and contortionist - so it was great to let her run free, and scale the sets in as many weird positions as she could muster.
