Stripped back and unashamedly single-focussed, Forbes '30 Under 30' filmmaker Ivan Cash's Jay Allen Glaspy tells the extraordinary tale of a man “born in the cotton fields" who wished for orefor his family.
Taking us on the journey from childhood (Glaspy being a third-generation sharecropper and descendant of slaves) to the present, the protagonist and narrator's insightful commentary not only tells of a life well lived, but also examines racial injustice through the lens of someone who has been on the receiving end.
Poignant and sincere, the film is a eye-opening glimpse at determination and commitment.
