Is it chips, or crisps? Cleats, or boots? Football…or soccer? For years, fans from around the globe have contested this question as old as the sport itself.
Frito-Lay, the first-ever snack brand sponsor in FIFA and World Cup history, is fuelling the debate by bringing together a roster of global sports icons, including iconic British player David Beckham and American football legend Peyton Manning.
Is It Called Soccer or Football, directed by legendary Hollywood filmmaker Michael Bay through Great Guns USA, sets out to settle the debate once and for all. Created and produced by Frito-Lay's internal creative agency, it follows Beckham and Manning from the couch to the pitch to gain insight from fans and players alike.
The film features a series of cameos from soccer legends Mia Hamm, Brandi Chastain, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Julie Foudy and Tim Howard who offer their take, reigniting the discussion amongst other football – or soccer – fanatics.
