Freefolk appoints Jessica Verner as VFX Producer
The hire strengthens the studio’s production team across advertising, music videos and film.
VFX Producer Jessica Verner has joined Freefolk, bringing experience across advertising, music videos and film production.
Verner began her career at studios including Electric Theatre Collective and The Mill, later moving into producing at Okay Studio following a period living and travelling in New Zealand. Her work spans global brands such as Nike, Replay, Tanqueray, Bensons for Beds, Vodafone and Amazon, alongside award-recognised music videos, including a Rizzle Kicks project nominated for two Young Arrows and a Say Lou Lou video that won UKMVA Best Colourist.
Cheryl Payne, Head of Production at Freefolk, says: “Jessica is a fantastic addition to the team. She brings a rare combination of calm leadership, strong organisation and genuine care for the people she works with. Her ability to communicate clearly, build trust with clients and support artists makes her exactly the kind of producer we value at Freefolk.”
Verner says: “There’s always something to learn and improve on. Being adaptable, staying calm in high-pressure situations, and not letting that pressure pass down to your team is crucial. Maintaining this across both client-facing and internal relationships, creates a comfortable environment for everyone.”
She adds: “I’ve always loved working in creative environments. Freefolk has a really lovely, inclusive vibe, alongside an exceptionally high and consistent standard of work. Being independent allows for flexibility and autonomous thinking, which really appeals to me.”
Looking ahead, Verner says she is keen to work on more CG-heavy projects, continuing to expand her skillset while collaborating closely with artists and clients. She adds: “Freefolk feels like a happy medium between the larger studios I started out in and the more boutique companies I’ve worked with since. It suits me well, and I’m looking forward to continuing the trajectory of my career here.”
