What do a monocycle knight, an ancient band of cymbal-forgers, a musical sniper, and a Mongolian dressage expert have in common?
If the answer isn't Filip Nilsson's brilliantly bonkers Escapades project for one-half-of-Justice, Gaspard Augé's latest album, well... we don't know what you've been smoking/eating/dreaming.
Taking on an audacious endeavour - five music videos, as well as an album cover and a magazine - Nilsson has created a surreal cinematic universe of oddball characters, all in the name of celebrating the electronic joy of Augé's music.
Above: All of the separate films.
Shot in Turkey in the middle of the pandemic (with the remarkable achievement of no-one getting sick, not even the rooster), the Object & Animal production takes in grand vistas alongside sweaty workhouses, all captured in delightfully grainy film.
The result is a series that somehow builds towards a common climax, compiling all of the dramatically deranged images into a narrative the kindasorta makes delightful sense and resulting in one epic escapade.
