American sports retailer Fanatics has debuted We’re Still Wearing Itdirected by Jungle through Rebolucion, which invites fans to rebel against football star Messi's potential retirement with the message “You Can’t Hang It Up While We’re Still Wearing It.”

The film is set in the moments leading up to the World Cup final. Set in Buenos Aires, the film follows fans desperately rebelling against a giant Messi jersey billboard being raised in his honour, one that thanks him for his career and signals his retirement. By the end, that rebellion spurs fans everywhere to put on their own Messi jerseys and tell him they’re not ready to see him go.

The film is set to the song Don’t Cry for Me Argentina. Fanatics also went a step further, commissioning a new Spanish-language version of the song with Luz Gaggi, a finalist on Argentina’s The Voice (2021) and a Messi fan herself.

Additional highlights include authentic casting, with every person in the film - from the lead actor to the last background extra - being a real Messi fan, with extras sourced directly from Argentinian fan groups, as well as plenty of fan easter eggs and Jerseys spanning his entire career, with the Argentinian national team appearing throughout the film.
